The Corotoman is a tributary of the Rappahannock just past thhe creek that leads to Tides Inn and Irvington. It is referred to in guides as having significantly more wilderness that most of the other “Rivah” areas. This proved to be true, especially after passing Merry Point.
Merry Point Ferry is a cable ferry. The cable can be seen in the closeup phot by zooming. Katy will add more about the history of the Merry Point Ferry and area in general.
